Should Muslims Follow Andrew Tate? | Dr. Safiyyah Ally

While many young Muslim men look up to influencer Andrew Tate as their role model, his persona and lifestyle exemplify violence, arrogance, materialism and hedonism in violation of the ethos of Islam. Dr. Safiyyah Ally explores how his sins, past and present, can be reconciled with his conversion to Islam. She advises young Muslim men to follow people who represent good and lead them towards good. She ends with these wise words: “Look to the Prophet Muhammad. He was strong, powerful and courageous, but he used the traditional male advantages that God had blessed him with to be of benefit and service to his family and the wider society. More than that, he was gentle, humble and loving with everyone he interacted with even if he could have gotten away with being the opposite. That is true masculinity in the Islamic tradition.”

Andrew never said follow me, actually he said that he have long way to learn. shouldn't we stand by him and teach him?

He clarified many things on his interview with Muhammad Hijab.
You're video is a few days late.
He accepted Islam and his sins are forgiven. Now it's up to the Muslims to welcome him and teach him appropriately so he doesn't make the same mistakes.
May Allah keep him firm on the Deen.

From a sister to a sister, was this the way of our prophet or Companions to shame the new believers of their past sins

If God says He forgives sins of the believers from before their coversion, who are we to shame them by mentioning their sins and push them away from the right path??? Who gave us the right to do so? And God guides whom He wills and He is the judge NOT we. And thank God for that ....

He’s Muslim now, why are you talking about his sins from prior to conversion?

As an atheist I strongly applaud Dr. Ally for her stance on this. Irrespective of religion, you shouldn’t compromise your principles to appeal to what’s popular.

Everything Tate said the prophet Mohamed said it ... everything Tate did the prophet Mohamed did ... amazing the hypocrisy in here 😂

Indeed the greatest Fitna is the Fitna of wmn.
This feminist ideology is wide spread even amongst muslims such as this lady here that she dared to insinuate that a Hadith is misogynistic.
What is wrong with men's preferences ?
And why is holding wmn accountable for some of what happens to them is bad ?
Tate is popular for a reason and unless the cause is gone things will not change.

Assalamualaikum..The best thing we can do as muslims is to encourage him to learn more about Islam, pray n hope one day he will become a better muslim..he's still learning..he deserves more time for that..things cant simply be changed in one night..

False characterization in the first minute taken out of context.

Andrew said if you dress a certain way and are in a certain area, you have to take responsibility for what could happen. He condemns SA and has said perpetrators need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Men are physically stronger than women. He actively advises against women engaging in physical alterations with men. He's also said men should not use physicality on women.

Younger women are found to be more attractive by a study from Christian Ruder, founder of OKCupid and author of Dataclysm. Men 18-60 found women from age 18-23 as the most attractive. These were anonymous studies so the men feared no reprisal for their opinions.

And this video also shows why "Muslim women shouldn’t follow feminists"

Sister ofcourse Andrew Tate is not a role model for muslims to follow. The only role model amd will always be is the prophet pbuh. However you gotta cut Tate a slack. He just converted to Islam and not a born muslim with good knowledge about his deen like us. We should accept him as a new brother in our faith.

None of us decide who is Muslim and not my sister. Let Allah judge people.

This sister is talking about “hypocrites?” She needs to tread carefully and not push away a new convert lest she too be guilty of exhibiting non-Islamic “adab” by back-biting and doubting his sincerity. Islam teaches that Believers should give the benefit of the doubt…

Such extreme views? Filth? Telling young men to workout, be confident, work hard and not to be lazy, he has his flaws but in general sister I’m sure you did or still do as well. He’s motivated my younger sibling to work hard not be a sheep infront of women to stand his ground know his worth and be confident, after his conversion many people that were interested in Islam converted thousands of them, those are good deeds regardless of what he’s said, don’t condemn someone’s actions that’s still learning about Islam. I’m 99.9% positive if you had millions of dollars and access to almost anything he has you’d be in a much different scenario not thinking about the afterlife.

She is using emotional argument, misquoting Andrew Tate and attacking a newly convert.

These major mistakes are coming from an influencer who is influencing Muslims and hence these mistakes cannot go un noticed. Instead of a video "Should Muslims Follow Andrew Tate?"

There should be "Should Muslims follow Dr. Safiyyah Ally".

On what basis, you say that Mohammed was gentle ..

The only cause of concern is the Muslim brothers who supported him before his conversion, and the Muslim brothers who idolize him now for converting. MashAllah for a new revert though, I’m just worried about the state of our brothers already. InshAllah they seek knowledge from scholars and the Quran more.

Why would he be blamed to use the hadith verse? Blame the prophet not him
