$100 VS $1000 LEGO Star Wars AT-AT Comparison!

In 2 years LEGO has released their best LEGO Star Wars AT-AT sets ever! The 75288 AT-AT Playset & 75313 UCS AT-AT! While the Minifigures for each set are strikingly similar given the price difference, the MASSIVE build of the nearly $1000 UCS AT-AT cannot be questioned. While the $160 playset AT-AT is nice, if you have the money for the $1000 set... why not?

Conclusion: I can definitely afford the third best AT-AT in this video.

I still think the UCS atat is a perfect example of what Lego is capable of when they put their mind to doing something right. Amazing display ability and accuracy

I love how all of a sudden the $800 AT-AT is now $1000 because of battle packs

I have the $160 one, and I'm very happy with it. I have made some of my own improvements - adding two clear red 1x2's to create a more accurate front viewport. Also, I replaced the horrible (to me) orange slope pieces in the cockpit with black ones, which I think, also make it look not quite as small inside. I added a couple of gray plates inside the side doors, to make them more sturdy. Lastly, it looks possible to maybe squeeze in a couple more of the blue trooper seats, so I'm going to try this too.
Thanks, Ryan! Love the channel!

I've got all three. I displayed them the following way: the small one stands between the legs of the middle one, who stands behind the legs of the big one. It's like russian dolls, and creates a little bit of fake depth.
And I don't remember how long it took me to build the middle and small ones, but the UCS took me a little over 21 hours to build. It did have the best building experience of the three.

I think the 160 dollar one is the best cause it's really good looking and accurate while still being reasonably affordable

To be honest, the 1000 dollar one is really cool but quite hefty, and as it's name suggests it's more like a collectible, and it's cool to keep for display while the $160 one is better for play and battling and just imaginative play in general.

The 160 one is it for me. It looks really good (apart from some ugly coloured technic pins), the figures are great and actually use the right faces, you can put everything it comes with in it and its easy to display in different poses. You can already get it for a lot cheaper so its definetly a great set.

As a Gen Xer, I feel privileged that Lego took the time to make the best, most accurate UCS model based on an OT vehicle like the AT-AT. ESB is my favorite movie of all time, and the selection of Lego sets based on it are immense.

That said, I truly feel sorry for the younger generation that grew up with the prequels and don't have near the same opportunity to enjoy sets from that era. I feel the AT-AT is the new undisputed king of SW sets, but I'd welcome a quality challenger from the prequels so that the next gen can feel as lucky.

14:42 My only issue I've had with the UCS AT-AT is the legs leaning forward like there.... I still love it though.

I'm also a proud owner of all 3 of them and I'd say that the buildtimes mentioned are probably shorter than they are for most people. Love your channel though. Keep it up!

I had the motorized one as a kid (which is slightly shorter and wider than the modern play scale one) so I can compare the modern play scale one pretty closely to my childhood experience with the Lego AT AT. It was a big set for me back then.

Just seeing the UCS towering over the play scale like that, something as a kid I would have seen as a big set, is awe-inspiring. It’s so huge. Like I can’t imagine having that thing in person, I’ve never seen anything Lego that big with my own eyes.

I am also an owner of 130$ AT-AT and what I wanna say is that the build time feels instant and quickly. Building this set was the best 5 hours of my Xmas holidays 😁

I'm tempted to get the 10$ version just to stack it on top of the 800$ one just because it would be cute.

The $160 version does have a crank inside the upper-front hatch of the body to raise and lower Luke too. It's a great set at the right size and price for most people. Def recommend.

I love how when he’s comparing them the at-ats look like a mother and they’re child

The Snowtrooper battle packs are like the DLC for video games…

The 100 dollar is the best if you intend on playing with minifigures. The ucs stuff is basically a standalone thing, they are meant to be set pieces, they are priced as such.

IMO the UCS is perfect for a Hoth display MOCs due to its massive scale to everything else, it'll round the entire thing up perfectly. It's much closer to the movies with its vehicle-to-minifig scale, and since it was made to pose but not to play, its drawbacks don't come out as much.

Meanwhile, the play scale is, as the name implies, much better for casual play. Especially as a gift for your own kids or relatives, where dropping a bit more money doesn't come off as weird.
