The thing that bothers me about accommodating families is this: I buy a ticket 8 months in advance. I, like everyone else, select from the available seats on the seating chart on line. Someone else buys their tickets several months AFTER me and upon seeing the available seats, discovers there are no seats next to each other to meet their needs. They buy the tickets anyway expecting other passengers to switch with them. Why should I give up my seat because someone else didn't plan far enough in advance? If that flight can't seat you together, choose another one. Don't make me a victim of your bad planning.

Can we also ban them from boarding people on a hot airplane if they are not going to push back from the gate right away. They do it a lot where they put you in your seat and don’t have AC running because they engines are running.

I liked the idea of a long ago comic: Hertz Rent-a-Child. That way, no screaming children. For an extra fee, parents could choose the sex and age of the waiting child.

So you are saying families should get free premium seats? How about giving people the seats that they pay for or offer a refund if the airline does not supply them.If you book a flight, select the seats that you want to fly in then you should be entitled to fly in those seats. If you chose to save money and chose unassigned seating than that is what you should be entitled to.

Seating is "limited". Just like going to concert....You purchase a ticket and get the seats available. If you want seats together and only EXTRA COMFORT seats are available for a fee, on your flight... you cannot expect to sit there for free just to accommodate your family.
