There is so much musicianship in the MI and it really shines in concert - not only the playing, but the singing too!
Makes sense - they are band kids, admitted to the U of if I, and the majority of whom attended high schools in Illinois - one of the most highly rated public school systems in the country! They have no choice but to be good :-)
Seriously, though, they are students who put in all that hard work over so very many years - they should be very proud of what they have accomplished. Well done, Illini!

Not bad, but not nearly as good as the old war chant. As a Penn state, Illinois brought their band a few years ago, (I think) and on 34d downs the the war chant echoing through beaver stadium was eerie and rich with tradition. Such a shame the "re-brand" of Illinois as has essentially coincided with the bottoming out of the Fighting Illini athletic programs.
