I love to break down the idea of pronouns using pencils as an analogy. For example when I was growing up my family gave me a mechanical pencil to use (she/her pronouns) and I used it whenever, but later on I found a wooden pencil (he/him pronouns) and a metal pencil (they/them pronouns) and honestly I didn’t care which one I pulled out of my bag and used cus they all wrote perfectly. Some people switch from using a wooden pencil to a mechanical one, some people like the one they were given but grab another one as a bit of variety, some people just like the metal pencil, it literally does not matter what pencil a person has, so long as you use it and give it back to then when you’re done and not try and give them the pencil they don’t like because that’s the one they grew up with.
