Wilesco D4 steam engine over 8500 rpm

Finally decided to dust off this old steam engine to see if it still worked. First time out of the box in who knows hoew many years and it hits over 8500 rpm on the first run!

i don't think that was 8500rpm, maybe the polished flywheel was giving a false reading.

Great little vintage engine, and in perfect condition...could use some oil ;-)

It's very hard to find a D4 in such a condition nowadays, please care for it! Are you shure that the engine really reached 8500 rpm? Seems to be a little bit much.
