Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Sun & Moon to be “Pokemon STARS”

A new version of Pokémon Sun and Moon will launch for Nintendo Switch, called “Pokemon Stars”, or so claim the ‘sources’ that Eurogamer are ‘reporting’.
Following up directly from Pokemon Sun and Moon, Pokemon Stars Launch date expected in 2017.
“Expect the Switch version of Sun and Moon to feature the same map - the same routes and cities - and the same art style, although be built using separate, higher-resolution assets.”

Honestly I'd be more surprised if GameFreak wasn't working on a Pokemon game for the Switch. As someone who's never really been much of a OTG gamer, the prospect of a proper console Pokemon RPG is something that I've been waiting for since Red and Blue came out 😂.

The switch is basically a Nintendo handheld that connects to a TV. So it's logical that there's a Pokemon game in development for it. Nice that it will be a core RPG instead of a spin-off.

Man, you weren't kidding about the handholding. It's so jarring going from Red version on the VC, which lets you go after Oak's 5 minute parcel delivery, to the 2+ hours of tutorials and exposition in this game.

Australia and the uk are majority of times get shat on with the last to be released or never get exclusives for god knows why. i just dug out omega ruby 2 weeks ago after beating heart gold. and i really enjoyed the remake im hoping it carrys on in sun and moon.
im hoping whatever the switch version will be called by then (stars, eclipse, universe etc) that it might be a full open world where you can travel by flying/take a ship to Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola regions

I hope this rumor is true. I'm also SOOOO happy about the Switch. Console local multiplayer in Smash Bros and Mario Kart on the go without the need for extra systems, Xbox One and PS4 like visuals and 3rd party games on the go, 3DS quality JRPG's on the big screen, no having to install games because games are on 3DS and Vita like carts, allegedly being region my god, I'm ready for this system.

Presume Sun & Moon's release in Europe is staggered for the increased volume of localisation, annoyingly. Not quite as aggravating as the PAL release of Smash Bros Brawl being staggered by three months from the NTSC one back in the day - that was reeeeally fucking annoying, never mind that it was hardly a game bursting with speech or text

I can confirm you "forced" me to get a 3DS just to play Pokemon.

So I'm not the only one that's a bit bothered by the first few hours of Sun/Moon? I just cant seem to pick it up and binge-play it like I did every other game in the franchise. 10-30 minute sessions are usually what I play on Sun.
