EP 719 - Some “Not at The National” Pickups!

Maybe you’ve heard…the National Sports Collector’s Convention is going on this week in Chicago. I wasn’t able to make it this year, but I’m beyond excited for my many friends who are there.

Much like you… I am not at the National, but loving this video you put out today. All cards are very cool! And I gotta say… that 1994 Pedro card from the Expos would have been a perfect card to choose for your “1 card per year” challenge. Those ‘94 Expos deserve a lot of love…. So sad that we lost the WS that year. It actually took me quite a while to embrace the sport after that. It was many years before I came around to fall in love with the game and the hobby after that. Anyway… I ramble too much. Thanks for sharing these great cards!

Another great lineup! My favorite is the Darth Vader. I'm about to head over to the convention center for the Wednesday opening. Have no idea what to expect.

Dont feel alone. I did not go to the National either. I would of loved to go though lol Nice start with the shiny shiny Pujols. Ohhh yeah, now were talking. The Dark Lord himself ! Sweet card. Very nice Gretzky. Glad that I knew the player lol Sweet looking card. Nice SGC 10 ! Very cool card for sure. I like that First Day Production card. I did not collect then so I have not seen these before. Sweet pick ups to show us !! Thanks for sharing !!

You said it so well. I definitely wish I was there, but so happy for everyone that was able to go. I can’t wait to watch all the recaps and videos. Awesome shine on that Pujols! As a kid I hated villains or the heels in wrestling. Now as an adult they are the ones I like most. Lol not sure what that says about me for sure. Lol 😈Love the Pedro’s I got a sneak peek of. I want to say one per box as well on the artist proofs but not sure. Adam probably rocked the same curl or at least a perm back in the day ! Lol

Shane, my thoughts are parallel with yours on attending the National. Maybe some day. But I always try to tell myself there's more of us that didn't go that did attend. Whenever I see Pujols cards they are mainly the rookie cards that get attention. Why not grab any year from a 700 club guy? That '03 looks fantastic! The Jheri Curl Pedro is my favorite Pedro, lol. A great tribute to the Perez brothers Melido and Pascual, lol. All of these are beauties!

Very nice pickups. I also am not going to the National, and I will probably make a few pickups on ebay while everyone else is at the National. I really like the Darth Vader card with him pointing. Impressive, most impressive. {I am a big Star Ward fan.} I also really like the Pedo Artist Proof card. I like the way it shows him in mid pitching motion. I think that photo is very neat. Thanks for the display.

A lot of people doing Not at the National type videos. I'm pretty sure I'll never get to one. it's not the money, it's just travel makes me nervous.
