You should listen to the band Sound Of Urchin. The guitarist (Bill Fowler) did the solo for Polka Dot Tail (He's Billy). Sound Of Urchin also plays in a variety of genres, and the drummer is also the vocalist (which I always find cool in a band). Start with the album You Are The Best. Really good album.

And I met Gene n Dene in Melbourne Australia in about 98 or something after their show at the Prince of Wales.
Caught their tour bus to a rave up in the forest and got very messy all around.
