Well we didnt really see how close the ball so we cant say its out !

Can't really tell if the ball was in or out. The Umpire had the closest look and she made the decision. Either way ball was difficult to return, so who knows what it would turn out if the ball was called out.

I pause, I play it on slowest speed and it was close, nowhere near "clearly" out. Not enough daylight between ball and line from this angle anyway. People are acting like it was a Capriati-Serena USO 04 level of error.
Tough break but it was quite dumb to just give up on the point. Rus wasn't scrambling; it was a normal rally, yet threw up a lob for some reason. It seems she stopped because she was *sure* the umpire would save her. Relying on an overrule on a bang-bang play is a really bad strategy.
Edit: It's possible she genuinely thought it was way out but now I wonder if she didn't press the issue because it was her own match point in long three-set match and she wanted to end it already. Borderline bounces happen on the baseline ALL THE TIME and people play through them all the time.

We didnt even get a close look it could have easily caught the edge of the line people here being so sure it was out lol didnt wanna hear more of rus‘ annoying so this outcome is very to my liking

Bloody hell that ball was clearly out 3:54 and i am only watching in youtube and i am not an expert lineman or referee but 100% can tell you that ball was definitely out haha

I don’t see the point in shaking the umpires hand or anyone’s for that matter if you don’t even look at them and mean it.
Also glad Rus is out, that grunt is disgusting to listen to.
