King Henry VIII is surely one of the most famous English monarchs of all time, mainly due to his ever-changing marital status and his larger-than-life appearance and personality. However, a lot of people may not know what the Tudor king was like at the end of his life. While it might be hard to believe that a man responsible for so much death would expect forgiveness, the king allegedly spent his final hours getting right with God. Archbishop Thomas Cranmer was even by his side when he died, although Henry was unconscious and unaware of it. Here are some of the other details of how Henry VIII spent his final hours before death.

The weight problem, unhealing wounds and gout, make me think that he was diabetic

The fact that he made fun of the "fat french king" in his prime, was karma from what he became. Catherine of Aragon (Henry's first wife) Hurts me the most. A lot of people wonder why he didn't behead her like everyone else because her nephew was the Roman Emperor! She was Spanish royalty and if he killed her, they're would be war with Spain and Henry could indeed get beheaded himself. I hope all the wives found peace and living their best life in heaven. I heard that he was so obese he busted open when he died.

The Kings Tudor diet consisted of a pork meal a day, red meat, fowl, lots of BREAD, loads of ale and wine with loads of SUGAR added to it.
He would be considered a late stage type 2 diabetic in today's standards.
Also hard work never kills it makes one stronger unless they are consuming loads of sugars and carbs along with fats

72000 people dead because his kingdom.
Why is it that everyone only remembers Anne Boleyn, and none of the innocents, those who really did not deserve such a death?
He was one of the worst monarchs in English history.

We tried such ignorant ways to govern over the thousands of years. Having a king or a queen was one of the stupidest.

After his accident while Jousting, he basically went Insane and thought all his loyal advisers wanted him dead.
The tragedy besides executing his wives was that he executed many of his closest advisors who were loyal to him until the end.
Oh, and he executed a lot of Catholics.

If he's not burning in hell after all that he did, then God was more than merciful. We are no one to judge.

Fires were kept burning in his room to keep "evil vapors" at bay. Such as the carbon monoxide from the fires?
