The Spanish mastiff, real name Mastín Español o Mastín Leones, usually these working dogs have been using to defend the cattle from wolves attacks, specially in Leon and Zamora Countyes. I had one in the past. He was beautiful and powerful.

You start the Spanish mastiff video showing the English Mastiff. C'mon! Also, MEO is not the proper Spanish Mastiff but a caricature created by combining Spanish Mastiff with Saint Bernard which resulted in heavy and crappy dogs with a whole myriad of health issues. Proper Spanish Mastiff is a working dog that is athletic, big, smart and most importantly an excellent dog that to this days often coexist with Iberian wolves in the rural areas. Also, the Spanish mastiff is not considered a dangerous dog nor it is on any list. Seriously, who does research for these videos?

What I’ve learned is that you should have several clean shirts with you whenever the dog decides it wants to be petted (you have no say in this). It wants to be petted, basically all of the time. Except when it’s having a siesta.
