Undercurrent scene. Jealous Rage. Robert Taylor plays an intense, dangerous, possessive man who is insanely jealous and envious of his brother. Despite being mysteriously gone for years, his brother awakens his new wife's curiosity and affections through his poetry, writings, rustic country cottage, love of nature, the countryside and the little things in life. Katharine Hepburn (Ann) falls in love with and feels helplessly drawn to a mysterious and elusive man - a stranger she has never seen, whose soul and essence seem to permeate everything around her. Her husband, Alan, who is his brother's very opposite, makes it clear to her that she can never leave him. He will go to any length to make her stay - even murder.

This is an unusual part for Kate Hepburn playing a damsel in distress.
