What's Going on With Kingdom Hearts Missing Link?

Kingdom Hearts Missing Link has faced numerous push backs since its reveal in 2022. Seemingly the game has faces issues, so just how far off from release are we if the game if suppose to release this year?

Remember KH4 was meant to NOT take that's long and now it feels it will take as long or more than KH3.
And until S.E announce ML came out.
We will get nothing about KH4.

Delays/long waits are so common nowadays that I just accept worst case scenario and be patient

I feel like we would get Pre-reg this month, then the game releases in September. I dunno, that still feels like a lot of cope, but it would be good to at least START pre-reg soon.

Also, I kind of hoped to get into the game in warmer weather so that I could start saving up AP for the Winter. Y'know, hibernation and all that! lol

Honestly, I wonder if maybe Square should have made Missing Link in the same vein as Genshin Impact or even Final Fantasy XIV. Online games that are meant to be played on PC and consoles, and earn revenue via either subscriptions or gacha. Perhaps the whole GPS phone game gimmick is old news and too complex for Square to handle. When Niantic developed Pokemon Go, they were able to recycle the infrastructure that they had already built for Ingress. Square, on the other hand, has had to develop Missing Link’s GPS infrastructure from the ground up.

This honestly just getting ridiculous at this point. Plus receiving no new trailers for KH4, really makes you wonder what's really going on at Square Enix.
