I really love how you put an emphasis on self-love, it is very important and I believe that these reminders are always needed. 😊 My mom always tells me to not wear straight-legged jeans because it's not pretty and I looked very good in skinny jeans, but straight-legged jeans are much more comfortable for me, so I need to defend myself as well. She also thinks that academia is very old lady-like, but I will still wear it, because I like it, and I don't see it old lady-like at all. 😅 I think these things depend on our perception, fashion is very subjective.
Also, a very helpful video, thank you ❤️ It is very useful to know that there are different basics for different aesthetics. It was kind of obvious, but I just processed it now. 😹

I think there should be another step between "what you don't like" and "what you do like", and that is "what you like to see on others, but it's just not you". For example, I love goth and witchcore on other people, but when I think of trying outfits like that myself, my brain immediately goes nope! My actual aesthetic that I feel comfortable in and represents me well is the exact opposite. Why do I like the clothes I have in my wardrobe at the moment? Because almost all of them are in very bright strong cold colors. I own only three black tops and no browns or neutrals whatsoever. I'm excited because I found my aesthetic, finally. It's a combination of indie and soft girl. I saw a couple of indie kid pieces that I most likely won't resist buying, and they feel so right for me! I can also make some of my own, as I am an avid knitter and crocheter. Now I have an explanation for why I can't resist integrating beads of a contrasting color into everything I knit, as usually if they add beads, knitters use beads of the same color as the yarn.

I was just curious: what if you come up with an aesthetic and want to share it with other people? How would one do that? Because, about a month ago I got this idea to mix like Greek aesthetics with Goth and also some Medusa themed imagery, and I think it could be pretty cool but I have no idea how to put it out there.

I'm mostly commenting for support because I know how important engagement is for yt's algorithm. But I wanted to add that I'm glad you talked about self-love. I struggle with that quite a bit, to the point where I just wear holey clothes and refuse to do anything about it because I already feel like garbage. It's something that I struggle with on top of generally not fitting into anything the stores sell. I can't even buy hats or wigs because my head is too big--they just don't fit. I've been planning to make my own stuff for some time now, I just need to go an do it--getting supplies has been hard though, with the pandemic. @__@;
