WTF Is Trump's ‘Mainstream Media Accountability Survey?’

"Donald trump and the GOP released a “Mainstream Media Accountability Poll” that more or less backs up his anti-press press conference from yesterday, even before the results are collected.

Here are a few of the questions…

As you might be able to tell, people are not so happy about how pointedly anti-media the questions are or the fact that after asking them, the survey collects participants’ email addresses, then asks for donations. Calls for left-leaning people to take the survey to “balance” out the responses are rampant on Twitter. Some are calling it blatant propaganda or worse.”*

On the point about unity and no-one caring about it, a classic counter argument from UK politics would be what happened to the UK Labour party during the 1980s, when party unity disintegrated into spectacular infighting that sufficiently impacted their effectiveness as a political force that during the heights of Thatcherism, the left of British politics was entirely irrelevant, and it wasn't until after Kinnock had purged the party of the trotskyists and fully unified them that they could start the climb back to power (completed under the guidance of Blair, Mandelson and Brown), helped in turn by the Conservatives under Major tearing themselves to pieces over Maastricht, and getting nothing done as a result.

That's the problem with disunity: a little bit is fine, but when it descends into outright factionalism, it not only results in an appearance of chaos in the party brand: It actively impairs effectiveness as a political force, and that is *lethal* to a political brand. Cenk, I love you man... I love your fire and your passion and everything about you... There is just something about this certain level that you get to when you get super super fiery (like with the pounding of the fists type stuff in this video) and It just reminds me of Trump in a way and I know you've talked about how Trump's mannerisms have been rubbing off on people... It's not all the time, it was just a couple of times in this video I saw the energy level get super fiery and there was something primordial in the interaction which reminded me of types of Trump interactions. It's such a smart and brilliant conversation that's very uplifting and stimulating and then the fists start smashing and It goes from smart fabulous conversation to apes sitting around a table smashing their fists. I know it's so hard to resist when so many things get us fired up.

I get super fired up myself too and one thing that I've been trying to do lately is try to use that fire and instead of letting it hit everyone around me uncontrollably, I'm working on channeling it into a laser like way which takes a lot of practice for sure. It's a totally human thing the fist smashing thing... it just takes away from what I think you guys are wanting to do which is convey information. I'm an anthropologist so I maybe pay a little too close of attention to certain things in certain ways than other people would so yeah hope me sharing my perspective helps. I love you guys and you are great. I feel like you guys listen too when I make comments as well. I try to be helpful and constructive... so yeah hope it helps. Just something I noticed. I loved seeing the new guy and the other guy too in this video.

I could tell the new guy felt it a bit sitting between you and John and when you got super fired up to the point I was referencing earlier I could see him energetically pull back in an uncomfortable way which not many people would have picked up on unless they were psychoanalyzing like I am just not because dude is a pro. I love him. I love you. I love everyone at TYT. Keep being you.... and Cenk, we'll both work on using our fire like a laser and less like an all encompassing fire ball of fury which can push people away in ways because brotha, I do the same thing too and when I get super passionate and fiery about things I have to check myself a lot to make sure that I'm being surgically effective and or productive in my use of that energy. Anyways thank you guys again for all that you do and also, Thank you for removing the Square space commercials at the beginning of the videos. That short experiment felt like a punch in the face all four times I head them.
