Dafnes is a village 18 kilometers south of Heraklion on the Greek island of Crete. Since the 13th century Dafnes is known for its fine red wine of the endogenous Liatiko Grape variety. Every summer there is a 10 days Wine Festival in Dafnes. The village is located on the slopes of mount Pseiloritis (2458m) at an altitude of 320 meters. Dafnes has a population of 1.200.
