I have never owned a quality longboard. Today I received my Bear Gen 6 50 degrees 180mm trucks put them on my 9 ply 40* Maple deck, put bearings inside my orangutang 70mm 78a wheels and all I can say is holy crap. I didn't know what I was missing. I thought a truck was a truck. I learned that I love raked. My trucks weren't raked and I thought I was good at pumping before. Now with the bear gen 6 trucks, I can pump from a standstill, I can pump at low speed, I can pump at high speed. All I could do before is sort of pump if I already had pushed myself up to a high speed. I notice a difference in the bearings too. But I think its mainly that my bearings were so old and tarnished it didn't matter how many times I cleaned them or how much I lubed them. As long as there is no wind, I can push just one time and I will slowly glide over to the end of my street (which is 330m). I'm just so happy I ended up buying the Bear Gen 6. I was all worried because they seemed so tight since there was no wiggle in the trucks at all. Then I get on it lean to turn and I almost fly off of the board as I am not expecting it to turn with such ease. I love it.

Thank you for the great video. It was what gave me the shove I needed to buy real trucks. And with them, I built a whole new setup that I am actually in love with. It is like night and day. I can't believe how these things turn. I still just can't believe it. And though I feel the stock 90a bushings that come with it are amazing and perfect and the best I could ever have. I am going to try the venom tall cone and plug barrel in SHR. I mainly just carve around on flat roads. I do a lot of pumping (now that I can do it with such ease). I will hit a hill from time to time but there is only one good one in this area and it is a max of 30mph. I'm about to go on another cruise tonight. I love longboarding at night. It's definitely the best time. Right around when all the cars are off the road. I tend to go on long cruises though. I put at least 70 miles on my longboard a month and that is at the very minimum. Sometimes it can be as much as 250 miles. I understand people do much more than I do. But I just got back into this. I am 35 now. I stopped longboarding when I was about 15. All I need now is a longboard partner here in Hawaii, Does anyone live in Hawaii?. Going alone is fun but I would rather share the experience with someone else than being alone all the time.

Any other bushing brands that make a tall cone and plug barrel I should look into?

Just realized how much I typed. Long story short. I didn't know trucks made such a huge difference, it is night and day when coming from the trucks installed on your budget longboard to bear gen 6. The difference is mindblowing. I could never go back, also, I'm lonely. lol.

So I have a set of bear smokies. They have an insert, but it's plastic. So I cut a set of caliber bushings with the built in insert and used them, as the smokies run tall bushings and don't come with the insert. It works like a charm

They fit in Boardnamics and Torqueboards trucks that are used in esk8's.

What do you suggest for a double kingpin? Thanks!

These fit my Holeys in exactly the same way Bear Gen 6's do. The plug protrudes past the bushing seat on the opposite (roadside) side slightly.

Anyone hack off the top of the plug and use it as a separate insert piece? Basically make the two piece system from the plug barrel. Feel like I may be missing something with this idea.

Would it be better if put in the roadside position - since the roadside bushings do less work than the boardside bushings?

But can I run those inserts on grizzlies as well?

Great, useful data that I've been using for years, plugs are even more common these days w Cal IIIs & Gen6 recommending them.... considering the lack of product selection of these 5 duros, we have few options ( I cut my own rings) aside from HPF 96, 93, 90, 87&85 duros...

how about some SHR plugs in packs w 2plugs, & not this tomfoolery of 1 plug w a useless barrel meaning I buy two 13.50 bushings, half of which I won't use .

thanks for all your products & steeze

Yo, is it okay to put this on roadside on my caliber v3? I'm try to run a tall bushings on mine, but it seems impossible since I can't use any plug bushings cause there's no tall options. This is only possible if use the plus on roadside.

Works with Randal trucks as well. R3’s at least.

Does it matter if the plug is boardside or roadside?
