POV:
The Cold War has recently turned into the Hot War, as the United States and the Soviet Union has gone to full on nuclear war, and MAD is completely ignored with nukes flying over to New York City, and onto Moscow. There you are, at 74th Street in the upper east side, knowing full well you and the people around you are going to perish, you walk in a café wishing to be in a relaxed environment before your inevitable death, with all of the patrons either accepting dying or are blissfully unaware of what will happen to them with each of them having an eerily calm look on their face. You hear Emotions by Brenda Lee playing on the radio with a slightly distorted and slowed pitch. You sit down on the counter facing your waitress with an equally unconcerned face, and both of you make small talk to each other, reminiscing each others lives, and letting out our biggest regrets and wishes. The small talk continue while the air raid siren begins to blare across the city. In a sense of mania, both of you begin to chuckle each other, fully preparing to die, all with this song playing in the background. As the song draws to an end, you hear the whistle of the missle heading towards the city and you close your eyes, accepting death.
