This was OLL 2023, an awesome new gaming event hosted at the Norfolk Showground, a small venue, but the perfect size for a fun weekend of retro, indie and homebrew gaming, as well as some stage shows, and even a fun after party!

I really enjoyed OLL23 and seeing everyone, meeting everyone. So much put on for everyone games, consoles stalls. it eas just the right amount of sheer perfection to really celebrate retro gaming.

I know the Legend of Zelda on Famicom uses the microphone as a way of killing the bats. I don’t know any others though. I accidentally discovered that if you speak into it and it’ll come out of your TV speakers which is kind of weird. Great video as always!

The only game I know of personally that uses the P2 microphone on the Famicom is the original Zelda 🧐 This looks like such a great event! Amazing coverage as always :D

Dude, you have to try the Amiga and the ZX Spectrum.
The Amiga was the Playstation back in those days. Best computer of all time. The ZX is the second best computer of all time. Great games.

It looked like an awesome event! The cursed legacy was only just announced a couple of weeks ago I think so I assume it was an alpha build you were trying. If you enjoyed Life on Mars than the sequel Life on Earth was just announced and had a demo released which I definitely recommend trying. This one is more Shinobi than Metroidvania.

The Amiga was a pretty good system in its day for games still has some I go back to now, but once the Mega Drive and SNES came along, I preferred gaming on those. Nice snag on Kirakirakizu I saw that the other day in Yokkaichi here in Japan, I also thought about it but it was a bit overpriced. Fantastic game on GB and would love it on SFC.

Just before Easter there were 1.4 million people in the UK with COVID. I am surprised that events like these are being held without requiring the attendees to wear masks. PAX East insisted that all attendees wear face masks at all times, which is a very responsible attitude to take. I am glad you enjoyed the event but I hope you and the other attendees haven't caught COVID.

DC is a lovely machine but GOAT is a stretch. I've put sooo many more hours into any of NES, SNES, Mega Drive or PS1 than I have Dreamcast.
