I Love short books and novellas, thank you for the recommendations. I've added many to my ever growing TBR. One that is often overlooked is Galatea by Madeline Miller. Absolutely brilliant short book that packs a big feel!

P. Djèlí Clark has written some amazing novellas. I adored his last one, "The Dead Cat Tail Assasins" except the problematic ending. My favorite novella of all times is a Weird hidden gem in translatiin. It is "Tainaron. Mail From Another City" by Leen Krohn. A unnamed narrator writhing letters from a city of insects.

One of my new favourite videos, I truly needed this and it was very helpful. I haven't read many novellas, but the two that I would immediately call favourites are The Empress of Salt and Fortune and The Willful Princess and the Piebald Prince. Especially the later one surprised me, because while Robin Hobb is my favourite author and nowadays gets a fair amount of praise, I almost never see anyone talking about that novella. It's a novella set in the RotE but a few houndred years before the full-length novels. After having read Tawny Man, where the legend of the Piebald Prince is of some importance, reading the true story behind it was quite moving. Also features a sapphic main character 😘.
While I normally only read in English, the princing of novellas is something that will probably push me to pick up Murderbot - at least the novellas - in German (my first language). Reason for that is the existence of a bindup of the first four novellas in German for only 15 Euros ~ 13-40£😅☺️

I looooved Binti and Remote Control, great video. I love listening to novellas on scribd cause they are so expensive you're right.

Great list. I’ve loved some horror novellas or novellas that are horror blended with other genres like Ring Shout and The Ballad of Black Tom. The Empress of Salt and Fortune is another great novella. I need to get to its sequel soon.

I read Finna which I didn't hate but the characters were a 'little whinny' so maybe 3* but know I'm reading #2 Defekta which is much better, feeling like it could be 5*.
(70+ % done and it's looking good)
