Introducing the Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1955 Les Paul™ Standard. A faithful recreation of a guitar originally created for the 1955 NAMM Show and one of the jewels of Joe’s guitar collection, it features an ultra-rare Copper Iridescent finish, a pair of Epiphone P-90 PRO pickups wired to CTS® potentiometers and Mallory™ capacitors, a Custom ’59 Rounded C neck profile, a long neck tenon, and a “Nerdville” graphic hardshell case.

It’s well known that Joe Bonamassa has one of the world’s most drool-worthy guitar collections. In this excerpt from the full Joe Bonamassa interview on the Gibson Gear Guide, Joe recounts the story of how he came to own two out of three known Gibson Les Paul guitars in this incredibly rare color, which Bonamassa himself describes as a blend of browns and golds that changes in the light. Joe talks about the history of these models, his personal collection, and why he thinks the P-90 pickup is a hidden gem for Gibson enthusiasts.

Watch as Joe demos this latest Epiphone creation. With so many cool features, the Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1955 Les Paul Standard is one of the best Les Paul guitars available for under $1,000. Designed for “working musicians who want to go out there and rock,” these guitars offer professional-level quality and tones and are ready to hit the stage with you.

MIM Fenders are now offering real rosewood slabs again. Time for Epiphone to step up.

I ordered mine this week. Should get it Monday from Sweetwater. Love P-90’s!. Have them on my Fender Jaguar Blacktop. I also own JB’s Epiphone Les Paul Gold Top 2012.

I wasn't planning on buying a new guitar... but I can see that I probably won't resist :D this model is beautiful! Epiphone we definitely need more guitars with P90s!

I also hope that this year we'll see a new model with Slash's signature, my Vermillion Burst would like to have a sibling :D
I'm impressed with the progress Epiphone has made in recent years, keep it up!

This thing Joe plays at 2:07 sounds so good. Those two chords at the end of the first phrase 👌👌👌

JB talking about others “flexing” is high comedy.

Wow! Thank you Joe (and Epiphone), for rolling out another killer guitar at a very-obtainable price. This is SO COOL. You’re truly a good guy who cares about your fans and intentionally put your name on amazing guitars that the average player (like me) can afford. So cool.

PS. I like your commentary on amp volume settings. Several months ago, I watched a rig rundown with Eric Clapton’s guitar tech. When it came to his amps, he was using a very basic tube amp; don’t recall the brand/model, but I feel like they were Princetons or something similar. And he sets all the knobs to 7. No variance. That’s about 2:00, so between you two, I know where I’m setting my rig. 🤓🎸👍

This would be on my order list right now if it just had a rosewood board. The price is definitely at the right spot though!

Im not metal head but i like some gain and absolutely love the mid honk of the p90's with some ac/dc level crunch. Easily my favourite pickups and I'm undecided between this and the TV yellow epi special.

I got to say I really like it and I'm even almost over that head stock.
I really want to try one

The fathers of metal Black Sabbath used P90's. Tony Iommi's black SG had P90's. He loves them.

Another Jo Bo signature guitar that he'll never touch again apart from promo photo and video shoots.

It's not what you got, it's how you play it 😮

This reminds me of the Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Pro guitars: they had p-90s instead of mini humbuckers.

Epiphone has really stepped up. My favorite playing guitar is my Black Custom Epiphone SG... I own several Gibson Les Pauls.

Long version of video: JB: "People not on the internet will tell you they really like P90's" Like it's a dirty little secret? I love P90's!

You’d think for 900 they’d put Gibson P90s in it at least I know prices went up but other than the color there’s nothing there…. A case ? I’d rather pay 1200 for the Switchcraft …pickups … and the headstock … just me I guess 🤷🏼‍♂️…. Epi just made the same guitar for GC in a custom version … ebony gold hardware for 699 it’s beautiful

Will the headstock break off as easy as a Gibson? I hope so. Cause that means it's got real blues tone.
