What’s the key to healthy footwear? #shorts
You need shoes that let your feet work like feet!! That means shoes with:
👉🏼 A wide toe box
Lets your toes spread out and do their job! Essential for healthy arches and preventing or healing bunions & plantar fasciitis.
👉🏼 Totally flat - no rise at the heel or spring at the toe
Keeps foot muscles balanced on the tops & bottoms of your feet and allows optimal walking. Essential for happy knees, hips & low back, pelvic floor health and preventing plantar fasciitis & hammertoes.
👉🏼 Flexible, thin soles
Allow you to feel the ground, keep feet strong & mobile, and allow you to push off & land correctly as you walk. Essential for long term foot function!
But - shoe options with thicker soles are a great transitional step, extra long days, or sore feet.
* shoes should also be fully attached, no slides or flip flops - these interfere with how our feet move.
🤦♀️Conventional footwear is a big reason for foot pain and many other body issues, so switching to healthier, more minimal footwear is a great idea for long term self-care.
