My dad worked for an aluminum plant and bought sheets of aluminum, brought them home and folded the edges up to make giant pans. We would peel and slice bushels and bushels of apples to dry on those pans. Every morning we'd take them out and put them over saw horses. Those brown apples made the best fried pies, dried-apple stack cakes. One year the weather took a turn so we made apple butter out of those. Before the pans we used old screen doors, lol. Nothing beats sun dried. We never used the car, just the back yard. Memories.

That's great! After they are dried, then how do you store them and how long do they last?

How do you preserve them or store them when you get ready to use them?
