it’s 2 am and I’m in love with longyearbyen, somehow It gives me a good feeling when there’s a town so far north that is so far away from all the chaos in the living world

It's 5am, I'm thinking about seeds for some reason, and how long some may last before they can't be planted anymore. This got me thinking about the seed vault on Svalbard. With that in my mind, i suddenly got curious, what amenities does Svalbard have, since it has a somewhat significant population for such a northern arctic island.
Glad i looked it up, really interesting to see how well developed and accommodating Longyearbyen is for it's residents. Thank you for sharing c:

Go to Banff in Alberta Canada. Or go to Lake Louise in the winter.
I used to be part of the Lake Louise ski team.
That wil get you going.
Skillifts open from 8:30 to 16:30.
Skiing twice a weekend. Busride is 6 hours both was.
And then Ski in -36C most Mountain you can ever ski.
That is being cold

Thanks so much! We are coming in June - unfortunately only with one of the bloody cruise ships 😅, but would lobe to come April 2024 with the family. The Problem is, we have three kids, the youngest one nearly 6 by then. Do you think we can do Snow mobiles with three (one adult taking two Kids)?
