NO drum replacement was done in this mix, this is a 100% acoustically recorded and mixed track: absolutely no supplementation, layering, or triggering was done (recorded on a DW Performance Series kit).
Lighting by Jose Altonaga.
This video is part of The 101 Series and was filmed, edited, engineered, mixed, mastered, and produced in its entirety by Cobus Potgieter.

Quite a while ago I did another song by these rad dudes, Freestyler.. and it was one of the first times where I felt I covered a song that hadn't really been covered on the drums before. These covers have always been a creative outlet more than anything, and doing Freestyler as creatively as I could (at the time!) and seeing the response, really opened up my perspective to try playing drums along to any and everything I possibly wanted to. Rad feeling.
So.. in continuing this approach, I took another Bomfunk MC's track, and tried giving it a unique spin as well. I stumbled onto the groove in the first verse and was immediately amped about it, LOVE the vibe between the two sets of hats! I also borrowed from another cover of mine (Tik Tok) for one of the B-sections, altered the groove slightly, but the pattern between the bell and the snare is pretty much the same.
All in all really happy with this, such such a fun song to play with! There's just something SO rad about writing drums for something that didn't have drums in it before you started playing. Awesome feeling.
