Former presidents pay tribute to George H.W. Bush

Former President George H.W. Bush died late Friday night at his home in Houston, Texas. Omar Villafranca reports from Houston near St. Martin's Episcopal Church where the funeral for Bush will be held.

I am most grateful to this president Bush because he passed the Americans with disabilities act which changed the life of many individuals who have disabilities and enabled them to go to work without discrimination. This was a major and significant action in the world of human services that work for. people with disabilities became a reality . That is what I will remember him before.

He was a man of true conviction who would run for any position once. He never said no to a fight and took on many challenges. Some may say he came up short several times but he still invested the time to at least try to make it work. There were many victories in his life and his accomplishments outweighed his shortfalls. He stayed involved in whatever way he could. A true elder statesman.

He was an active WW2 combat (fighter pilot) veteran and was shot down - rescued and got right back into the fight.

What a great weekend it was and what a wonderful week it will be. Instead of the constant focus on the egotistical man who currently occupies the Oval Office, we have heard tribute after tribute for one of his predecessors, a man who truly cared about America and who sought to do what was right for this country with all of the grace and humility would should expect of our leaders. Wow, how I miss those times. May George H.W. Bush's spirit live on amongst us forever.
