MID CENTURY MODERN FURNITURE MAKEOVER

I found this Danish Teak dresser for FREE at the side of the road a few months ago and have been completely intimidated by it ever since. I really wanted to restore this piece back to its original condition but after talking to a few restoration specialists, I realized that painting some of it was going to be the best course of action for this makeover.

Used in this video:
+ Surf Prep 3x4 Electric Ray Sander
+ SurfPrep 1/2” Medium Grit Foam Abrasive
+ SW Duration Paint in Urban Bronze

Wowzer! I look forward to a new transformation each week from you, Katie. Thanks for not being a one trick pony and painting everything white. Your eye for beautiful design is spot on.

Love it. When someone says, “you can’t polish a turd, ” I say, “Katie Scott can, and she can make it look good.”

I love that you still have the wood grain texture after you were done painting. That's ideal for this piece.

You help me sublimate my compulsion to start projects of my own. I’m downsizing due to my age and can’t start a new hobby nor do I have room for more furniture. Your work and style leave me speechless. So beautiful. I could go on and on. I send your videos on to friends.

Wow, so much more beautiful than the cheap new furniture you find in even mid-quality stores! You are the furniture magician, beautiful as always! You will have to show us with the desk!

I really love the placement of the legs. Does it make it sturdier to place them further in? Or was it just a style choice? Either way, love your videos!

I just bought a desk on Facebook Marketplace for 20 USD and it‘s made of that same material as that dresser! I’ve been searching for ideas on Youtube on how to restore the desk I bought and this video is it! Though I’m planning on re-staining it because I want to teach myself how, but your ways on this video surely helps. Thank you! And that dresser turned out beautiful!!

I have one very similar to this one, but mine is 7 feet long and no legs. I got it from a charity shop for only £7 about 5 years ago. I got it to store all of my sewing materials, and new also that it was worth about £200 as it was, but now after seeing what you have done with yours, miner's the legs, I think I may paint it. Wish me luck. Xx
