I hope they add more lore and more scenes to when Braska, Jecht, and Auron traveled together before the events of FFX. Always wanted a prequel but more backstory around them would be fine.

I’m not sure it really needs a remake yet. I think 4, 6, 9 and maybe 8 with some junction system rework might be more deserving. X just still holds up really well in my opinion

If they give ffx the ff7 remake treatment, I see no reason why they wouldn't include ffx-2's story. It'll probably end up being two parts like ff7. Especially if they decide to add a bit of a prequel with Jecht, Auron, and Braska.

IF This happens (and I pray that it does), I would like for them to have it somewhere in the game where you can actually play as Braska during his pilgrimage. It's a stretch, but I want it to happen!

I can't really follow your train of thought right there. Square has finished FF16, is working on the FF7 remake and on top of that there are rumors (believeable rumors, but nothing is set in stone, they could be cancelled or delayed) for a couple of other Final Fantasy games and suddenly you're like: "How do you feel about Square only focussing on Final Fantasy untill 2026?"

Square is huge, why wouldn't they be able to work on multiple projects at the same time? Plus none of these rumored remakes have been officially announced, so they can still delay or cancel them and work on other games instead.

I love 10 so much. It’s my favorite game of all time. If they have to remake it I want it turn based. If they change that I think it will loose part of its charm. The battle system was fantastic, yes it needs some small adjustments but that’s it. I would rather see a prequel with Ject.

Since it would be the 3rd itteration of this game and labled as a "Remake" and not just another remaster, i hope they go along the route of ffvii remake and make the combat action based rather than turn based. I know many people might not like that but I personally would love it.

it makes sense... after the 3rd part of final fantasy VII, what would SE do? explore the second most beloved game in the franchise, final fantasy X (not counting the online games)

Final Fantasy X is perfect in every way. If any game needs to be remade, it should be VI.

I think it's a little unfair to say that Square Enix just do Final Fantasy.
First of all, in the 90's(i'm 36) Square didn't have other huge IPs other than Final Fantasy, now they also have Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest. And DQ 12, 3 remake and KH 4 are on the way.
Second is that they released tons of other games in recent years(some good and some bad): the Octopath games, the Bravely trilogy, Harvestella, Star Ocean 6, Near Replicant, etc..and some of these games are really good.

To an extent, some of the missing weird games is down to corporate structure. Used to be Square was just one development house with multiple projects, but Square Enix is so large that their developers are shuffled off into their own little divisions within the company. So some of what used to be the side games is now done by, say, the Octopath team, doing those games and Bravely and Triangle Strategy.

But a lot of the peak of Square’s creative golden age was because of new up and comers getting to pitch their ideas and collaborate between different teams, so at some level the more rigid corporate structure, even if it’s producing the same number of games, isn’t producing the same degree of “let’s see if this works!” experiments and just locking everyone into their designated sub genres.

It’s really a shame, because honestly I think the indie space sometimes suffers from the same problem. A particular developer might have a creative idea, but because they’re working with one small team they’ll make similar games over and over because nobody they work with is someone completely different who happens to work in the same office, but their own hand-picked collaborators.

Another Remaster/Remake? They had the International Version for PS2, and the HD remaster for Vita and PS3, and the HD remaster for PS4. This would be a 4th time touching it, just seems really excessive. I want to see Bravely Default games on DS brought to current console systems. Or if they are going to focus on Final Fantasy, maybe the Offline Version of Final Fantasy XI that has been in the works for the last 10 years, and get rid of that dang PlayOnline Viewer for Final Fantasy XI, most people can't even figure it out, it shouldn't take 3 passwords to get into Final Fantasy XI *end rant*.

Excited for this, but Final Fantasy VI remake would’ve been a much more intriguing game. A reimagined 3D version of all the locales and moments 🤌
