As much as I admire Douglas Crockford, I do disagree with his stance of types. I think he is correctly identifying some of the short comings or the overblown sense of security that types bring, but I find that types allow me to express things that previously could only be expressed in documentation or, god forbid, as classes, and that makes the code much easier to think about as a whole, especially with the tooling around them making it easier to remember the parameter and return types of functions. Thinking of a generic JS object that gets passed around is different than thinking about a concrete type of object that's guaranteed to have a specific shape, and I did find that to be a game changer when I finally switched over to TS.

Офигенный гость но вопросы заданные в первые 10 минут пытливый ум разработчика не затрагивают. Более того когда Кроуфорд говорить про распределенные системы и дизайн языка Артем ваще не отдупляет на сколько это важно и на сколько плох сейчас вопрос про javascript. Кроуфорд говорит про всю индустрию.

мало было нам одного языка, полного непроверенных фичей, типа прототипного наследования и всратых циферок? давайте ебанём еще один
большинство новых языков, которые вообще заслуживают внимания, следуют принципу наименьшего удивления, а этот его мисти чота ни фига.
угадайте с трёх раз, как в его языке называется функция, делающая объект иммутабельным. хрена с два вы догадаетесь.
я хочу переиспользовать свой опыт из других языков, 2-3 уже знакомых варианта попробовать в ИДЕ, и только потом идти гуглить
выкинуть запятые - тупая идея, кто и где ее проверил, убедился, что так лучше? список от блока стейтментов становится отличим только по скобочкам. а если я их вижу плохо?

в вебе в принципе нах не нужен язык, нужен таргет компиляции, типа васма, или типа лиспа, если надо чота высокоуровневое

The interview is hilarious. Douglas says "It might replace JS" and you (oh... ok... I really don't care, but I need to say something cool): "wow... sounds like a plan". WTF dude. From the first minute and I literally feel your frustration from my screen. How I can suppose to watch the rest 54 minutes?
