In college, we read an article that explained facial recognition made in the US couldn’t distinguish Asian people, basically thinking they all look the same.
A facial reconciliation software in China had the same problem, but for white people.
Human bias makes biased AI.

1. Ensure algorithm data is diverse, representative and balanced.
2. Remove bias, counterfactuals and adversarial learning.
3. Use ethical principles and guidelines that are fair, accountable and transparent.

It's probably just the lack of data used in developing AI in this area that accounts for the errors. Be concerned in fixing instead of blaming. The blaming and rude comments indicate most people are not fit or qualified to help develop AI for the good.
