I have Make the Cut - it’s a beautiful light neutral with a subtle (but visible) shimmer. Gorgeous.
I don’t think gel polish damages the nails. It’s the method of removal that can do damage.

I know I’m 2 months late, but had to share that I have *almost* all of their polishes! This mainstream polish is my weakness! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this brand! My only complaint: I wish that they would come up w/ seasonal collections like regular essie polishes. However, by not doing that, I’m saving a ton of money- lol!😜

Personally it worked better for me to do three base coats and then one top coat. It turned out brighter and a little bit more solid!

Im a late bloomer here, Im trying to buy new essie gel for vacation. Please reply, my question is do I need to put base coat at all? will it turn yellow nails. just making sure. Thx!

Need help!
Used this one over base coat (did not know to use directly in mail) and used the regular Essie top coat. Resulted in extended drying and not hardening. Nails remained softish and finish became dull because it was receptive to impressions: pillow cases, my own skin, hair, napkins, towels, etc. 4 days later I decided to remove it with my usual nail polish remover… it did NOT WORK. With the same removed I erased the regular Essie polish remover just 5 days ago. This combo of gel couture and top layer is nuclear-proof. Apart from scraping what else can be done?

Do you need to use the 2nd step too coat? I bought the colour but couldn’t find the top coat so I just used regular top coat. Is that ok?
