Dogs can, will and do bite

There are many reasons why a dog may bite a person and the majority of dog bites are preventable. Dogs may bite due to fear or feeling that their comfort zone has been breached. Typically, they will demonstrate other signs of fear or discomfort before they actually bite - as part of a "fight or flight" response. Understanding what to look for in a dog's body language can be helpful in diffusing these situations.
