Pakistan Begins Privatisation of Three Power Discos | Dawn News English

The privatisation process for three electricity distribution companies namely Islamabad Electric Supply Company, Gujranwala Electric Power Company, and Faisalabad Electric Supply Company—officially began on Tuesday. The decision was made in a meeting co-chaired by Privatisation Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and Power Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari. The Privatisation Commission has invited proposals for the appointment of financial advisers to oversee private sector participation in these companies. The ministers emphasized transparency and the swift completion of the process. A final approval of the privatisation schedule will be sought from the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation and the federal government.
