I think Elias might be my favorite character to originate from the Archie comics. He wasn't involved in the main plot very often, was basically just another Sally visually, and had no special powers, but his personality and overall story arc were really nice.

I've thought for a while that the reason Sonic and Sally rule Mobotropolis in the future is because Elias gave up being king to live a simple life. He wasn't needed anymore. He could finally have the life he wanted while knowing someone worthy was in charge.

Elias was one of my favourite Penders OCs from the preboot canon and it absolutely stinks that there probably won't be a character like hım in this franchise again due to the specific events that led to his growth

Even the reboot essentially merging Elias and Max to make a "better and kinder" king wasnt an enough replacement imo

I will never cease to be amazed at how Flynn took the Penders continuity as is and made something compelling out of it. Anyone else would have looked at that mess and hit the Reboot button ASAP. But Flynn was a fan for a long time and embraced that mess, teasing out the potential out of all the characters and lore.

It’s weird cuz I hate using the term Oc in official products because it’s technically used as an insult in many cases


Meaning it can kinda be applied to make any character feel less “proper”


Like calling Blaze a Dimps Oc because you don’t like her

Elias is such a tragic character. He basically spends his entire life saving his sister from her dumb decisions and taking the blame for his father's mistakes. Man can't catch a break.

If you're looking for video suggestions, I'd personally love one on Rotor. I know it's a running gag that you call him "this guy" because you find him boring, but he's actually my favorite Freedom Fighter and I do think there's some interesting story to go over once Flynn took over regarding how to make Rotor work when Tails has taken over his previous role and the ways his story twists and turns to go from his least active to most active roles pretty much back to back.

I've always imagined that if he was in Sonic Satam (or ANY sonic cartoon for that matter) I think he would be voiced by Cam Clarke! (A.K.A. Leonardo from the 1987 TMNT cartoon!)
