The Thing about that It also depends we gotta Remember that every time Ben transforms into an Alien It evolves into the prime version of that alien so technically both Gray matter and brainstorm are prime intelligent aliens of their respective Species

I’d be on the side of grey matter too. At first I’d say brainstorm cause it looks smarter in the show but if we think about most of the times Ben used grey matter then we know he instantly knew things he didn’t as a human. Knowing stuff is no intelligence. You can be the smartest guy in the world but enclosed in a room for your life. Then you know nothing but basics but you’re still technically intelligent, but just don’t know stuff.

Grey matter on the other hand knew it. So you could argue it’s just to show how smart it is by giving him complicated voice lines but I would say he’s SOOO smart he just learned what these things are. Sure he wouldn’t know the name of it but in my headcanon he looks at machines without knowing what this kind of machine is and is like, , hm ok those wires follow this way to a energy container or something and this screws and this make it logically a bomb. So this must be something that explodes., ,

Like a human who looks at a map of an unknown place :, , ah ok I never knew this city before but this road is big so it means there’s space for cars., ,

You learn how to be in this city by just looking at it while greymatter learns how machines work by just looking at their interior and instantly gives Ben a master degree in mechanics or something 😂 he’s so smart he has to study for a second to learn everything

I think it's the abstract thinking capabilities that make Galvans more intelligent. Both are smart but it's clear that Cerebro-crustaceans are smarter than most due to the excess neurons. It's the difference between having a bigger computer or a more refined one.

It's why Psychobos could replicate the Omnitrix but did know how to make it from scratch. It's likely that they don't think outside the box as much more so they long and shuffle information to create ingenuity.

Not to say it's impossible for them to think outside the box but they don't ask "What if" despite having so much brain power.

What I want to know is who is the smartest, Ismut, the inventor of the Omnitrix or Greymatter, because as is known, the Omnitrix subjects every DNA to the most extreme conditions to give the best sample from each alien species. Does this mean that Graymatter is superior to all of its species?

You could argue Brainstorm is more intelligent just because his electrical abilities are specifically from his intelligence and not something Grey Matter can do. Not to mention, Brainstorm even "implied" he was smarter than Azmuth.
