Explainer animation of an industrial inkjet process where a product is printed using two (2) colors. Two inkjet printing methods are shown, “on the fly” print where the print is applied directly on a specific area. The other method is rotational printing where the print is applied on the full circumference (360°) of the product.

With the “on the fly” print methods the print can be applied very quickly but can only cover a specific area of the product. When more area has to be printed additional print heads are needed and the product needs to be rotated to present the next part. Between the print steps, the ink needs to be hardened to ensure it stays in place (called curing). This is a quick methods to apply print on a product.

Alternatively the product is rotated during the print process where the full circumference is printed. This takes more time but requires less inkjet print heads. Also less pinning steps are needed to harden the ink in place.
The animation shows both methods and the curing methods. The animation is part of a larger explainer animation covering industrial and technical inkjet printing.
