This video is on “ Chemical Process Design: Design Basis Part 1. The target audience for this course is chemical and process engineers as well as fresh chemical engineers
Process design is an important and interesting phase in the setting up of a chemical process plant. Before the actual design begins the all the necessary information on the basis of which the chemical proposed process plant would be designed will be documented. In general the process design basis document covers several aspects of the plant design which include, the standards and codes for design, product, feedstock and utilities specifications and battery limit conditions design information to be provided in PFD and material balance, site conditions, equipment as well as instrument related design information, safety and environmental regulations. The Design Basis Part 1 covers part of these design basis requirement.
