Joe Biden has won the presidency in Arizona for the 2020 election, according to the Associated Press. He won the state over the Republican incumbent Donald Trump.

Biden is the first Democrat to win the race for president in Arizona since 1996, when former President Bill Clinton won the state. The only other time a Democrat has won in Arizona was in 1952.

Trump won Arizona in the 2016 presidential election over then-Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton.

Biden will win all of Arizona’s 11 electoral votes.

Mark Kelly has won the U.S. Senate special election in Arizona, beating out Republican Senator Martha McSally, according to the Associated Press. The race was to fill former Sen. John McCain’s seat.

Kelly was the favorite to win the election. He will serve alongside Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who beat McSally in the 2018 Senate race.

This is not the first time Arizona has had two Democratic U.S. Senators. Arizona’s first two senators, Henry Fountain Ashurst and Marcus Smith, were both Democrats.

Kelly will have to run again in 2022, when McCain’s six-year term would have been up.

Thank God it's "not over yet". If it really happens, America is gone :(

Have we considered that it's just AZ's large independent base? Actually voting for the greater good rather than by party lines?
