The original (seasons 1 & 2) is hands down still the best horror-mystery-thriller anime I've watched. The storytelling is impeccable, and every genre it tackles, it's tackled masterfully.

As a big Higurashi & Umineko fan, VN reader and everything, Rika is one of my favorite characters ever, and one I always find myself looking back on

She’s like homura from pmmm she made a wish to be Madoka’s hero, It ended up to be loops that she couldn’t bare and saw the people she hold so dearly died or turned into wishes then once Madoka turn into a god. Her obsession got more and more of her then when she was getting her soul gem purified by Madoka she absorbed she then stole energy in Madoka’s god form she became a devil the villain, and managed to break off one of the laws of cycles. She was clouded with grief in the beginning but now is grief.

Higurashi is my one of favourite shows. The characters are great, its written well and it makes me sympathise with the characters' struggles. Also the nipah is absolutely adorable.

I think the saddest part about her is the fact that, even when she finally reaches her happy end, the mental anguish will never be fully gone. This girl will probably have to go to therapy for the rest of her life, and even then, what are you even going to tell your Doctor? No one's gonna believe your story.
