I love your swatch cards! My system is doing 3.5x2.5 swatch cards putting them in A5 card holder that holds 4 per page double sided for a total of 8 per page and putting them in an A5 binder. I take the binder with me when shopping at my local store so I can see what colors I already have. Super helpful! But the little box is such a nice idea too!

As far as the glass palette, 6:06, you can actually make your own! I picked up a frame at the dollar store and a neutral gray acrylic paint and just painted the glass gray, covered the corners and I use it as a palette regularly!

New to the channel but so glad YouTube suggested it to me. Would love a flip through of the book you used to record colours for mixes and colour schemes. Your idea of doing a video showing how different art supplies react to different papers/surfaces sounds great. Looking forward to seeing that.

You are very talented! Also, your swatch cards may be the most useful art tip I’ve seen on YouTube in years. I immediately went up and cut out some cards and followed your lead. What a helpful tool! Thank you and Happy Holidays! 😊

That U. Go box looks amazing, but a bit beyond my price range at the moment 😅 It looks a lot thinner than other pochade boxes I've looked at which is a bonus for me, though I'm curious as to how it might work with needing to carry paints around in addition.

I also love that you use Royal & Langnickel bruses - I use their crafter's choice for gouache because they are a lot stiffer than my watercolour brushes and don't hold as much water, both benefits for me. They're also pretty cheap so I don't feel too guilty about being rough with them and doing big emotional/impasto techniques

There is paper for acrylic painting already, you don’t even need to put Gesso on it. 🙌🏻

Leah, thank you for sharing. I have heard a lot of favorable things about Roman Szmal watercolor paints. I'll need to give it a go sometime in 2023. Very nice use of the Fountain pen by Jacques Herbin 350 Vert Atlantide. It's a favorite of mine, and I use it often for journaling, but I love how you applied it to your artwork.

I also want to try the chubby stabilos my art store sells them individual so o might get a few colors. My new art supply this years so far that I’ve enjoyed are the liquitex soft body acrylics and the caran d’Ache neocolors II

Great video! And thank you for introducing me to Charvin — that sounds exactly like what I’ve been looking for. I hate the glossy plastic look of acrylic.

Hi Leah, new follower here. I love your videos and the artwork you do. I love the textures and color combos--awesome. I agree with what you said about the inconsistent sheen finish from various brands of acrylic paints. I painted a mustang horse scene and I mixed my acrylic brands often. The Golden brand has a lot of really shiny colors--too shiny and you could see on the painting that some of the areas were shiny and others weren't. It didn't matter after varnishing it, but if you don't like to varnish and some of your paints are shinier than others--that's annoying. I also love a satin finish and will try the Charvin acrylic paint. I wonder if Jackson's has it in addition to Jerry's Art O'Rama. That pinkish-brown, color called "Tanned" looks incredible and I wonder if they have a portrait set. I'm going to look for it. Thanks for all the great ideas, will be waiting for your next supply video. Love those.

love watching these kinds of videos, and learning about new products. Currently making swatch cards now! If you're wanting to try the most expensive watercolours, like daniel smith, they often offer dot cards, which have the whole line of colours on a paper, with just a dab of paint, so you can test out without committing to a whole tube

what colours did you use in your combined palette :)

Royal and Langnickel Brushes, that's the name. My local Walmart always carries them and they are pretty decent and cheap. I mainly use those for oil and soft pastels paintings.

The gelatin in the watercolour paper is not something you should be worried about, or the paper fibers for that matter. On the other hand, paints, inks or wood of the pencils.. Now that's something any pet owners should worry and be careful about. The best thing imo is to either completely restrict their access to the art area or teach them to not chew, lock or walk there. Even just walking can be a problem as they lick themselves after.
