Part 3 of 3 of the repair to the Chronometer train wheel. In this video I cut the teeth using the holder made in a previous video mounted in the Scvhaublin 102 lathe.
I then re-fit the wheel to the arbor.

I love the part @12:37 when you turn on the lathe and there is a ever so slight wobble on the wheel which goes away when you press the tool on it. That's the best part of this job, when things turn perfectly again.
Cool little series on a superbly done repair.

Thank you. the retention of the wheel on the arbor, the removal on the anvil, the use of stakes and the lathe to finish and reivet the job was invaluable to me. i had to swap the arbors on two escape wheels (one with 45 and the other with 48 teeth) and by following your craftsmanship as best as my tools allowed I have exchanged the arbor and rivetted the wheel and it is a successful job. i am happy and the chiming clock now runs as it should. my sincere thanks for the detail and care you have taken in this video

Thanks again for taking the time to record this repair. I have never seen your spin rivet technique but I can't wait to give it a try!

Very enjoyable video and well executed. Pretty nerve-wracking at times. It only takes one little slip...….

great lathe, but one trick I saw on youtube with one of these small machines, if you want a 'sanity_check' put a sharpie highlighter pen in a collet, and run a cycle, only thing on the part is the ink, so good way of checking what you think the settings will give you, but with this ink and a pitch guage.

Very nice video! Thanks for your work. Where did you bought the cutters? I am trying to buy very small modules.

Hi Tommy a another great video You ask about Microscopes. I use one of the cheap Usb microscopes if you want I will post a link for the one I use on my mill and lathe.

Been a bit caught up in rocketry of late. So a little behind. Desire, skill and having the correct tools are just the basics. Focus is amazing.👍🕰👍

I figured you would cut a tooth with the gear absent, then rotate the gear into position knowing it was aligned.
