ESO PvP Class Tier List - Firesong (Update 36)

What is going on guys! In this video we do the tier list for the Firesong DLC but much more in depth than the typical 2 classes since hybridization not ranking them based around their most effective hybrid build really does a disservice to the tier list inflating some classes and not giving enough credit elsewhere hope you guys enjoy let me know your thoughts!

Bruh. Please use a different color instead of purple next time, like red or gold or white. Some of us can't really tell the difference between your blue and purple color choices.

Good video! I always like to see what various people think of which classes as far as potency, but the one thing that seems to be missing is what is the general play style of the person presenting their list? What might be interesting to accompany a PvP tier list like this is to also explain your typical play style then folks watching can relate (or not) to how you play. It could be similar for those watching or it could be quite drastically different? A persons play style does tend to inform which class and builds might be the best for them, in my opinion.

Ok, there's a few things I disagree with here. I'll start with Magsorc. It's placed correctly, but the issue isn't as described. Sorcerer healing without pets is atrocious in general. This began with the nerf to health recovery to 50% with battle spirit and the changes to vampirism, but most people tend to overlook those passives as they are no longer worthwhile. Crit surge is helpful, but only becomes a good source of healing when stacking into crit rating heavily. Hybridization seems to have had a negative effect. While damage scales better with weapon or spell damage, Magsorc uses shields for defense. Shields scale off of Magicka and are capped by health. Stacking max mag leaves damage in a lackluster position. Stacking spell damage leaves shields too small to be worthwhile. A mix of the two would be ideal, but would still leave them in a position to rely on overload desync or spamming execute from the back of a zerg or on keep walls. Honestly, with matriarch it's the same story. Your burst heal can be killed too, so that's something no other class has to deal with, and dark conversion is interruptible leaving you to only use with los or after a stun. Also rapid Regen... Do we even need to talk about how bad it is? Only worthwhile in reactionary use. And Zos will probably try to "fix" the class with another busted set that will be better on every other class. Maybe a mythic that grants 5k mag and armor to the user, pigeon-holing a playstyle to a mythic.

This is why you see the discrepancy between how bad Magsorc is, and how Stamsorc is still pretty good. Stamsorc typically don't utilize shields, the playstyles haven't changed much, and nothing has really been sacrificed to create well-rounded builds that offer strong damage and good survivability. In fact, the emergence of bow sorc as being viable is a sign that Stamsorc playstyles are expanding. I could write a longer essay but I'll digress there.

Then I would rank every Necro better than every sorc simply on passives alone. You can build more damage through sets and cp and still maintain great survivability with their amazing healing kit and mitigation passives.

Probably should have used yellow as the hybrid class. Not only would it be easier to see but yellow is also the color you get mixing blue and green

Even ranged templar isn't A tier. Single targeted as a Nightblade, but not even close to NBs damage. And if you invest high into damage, you are so damn squishy, that can't survive when someone gets near. NB can go invisible or use shadow, sork can streak. Plar can only suck. My main is a Templar and I still play templar only because it's my firstborn and I have warm feelings.

Please consider using another color for hybrid/mag as these are nearly impossible to distinguish against such dark backgrounds for a colorblind person (which I am)

White would be perfect against blue and green

I agree with this list for the most part, but only for the high end of pvp. For the average player, they are going to be able to succeed much easier with a magDK or a Templar than a stamblade. I consistently see free kills because a new player thought they had the best build possible with a 19k health bomber

Good tier list I agree with all except hybrid sorc should be a tier lower I think, currently a magsorc main and even though I can pop off in bg the amount of effort required just doesn’t feel worth it.

I have a melee Magcro build that doesn't bomb...doesn't use Dark Death...and it has great pressure.

Could you please throw up your best race for each of these builds? I’m trying to fill out all of my ults to get horse upgrades going and want to focus them all to min/max PVP as a priority.

I feel like you could say what you said about necro about any class. Everyone always plays what is best on a class. And with hybridization its even worse now. Dks, wardens, etc. Even nightblades fall into 3 builds, at least from what i usually see. Bombers, stamblades with bow/cloak/snipe, and mag/hybrid blade revolving around landing a busted spectral bow. But ya i agree necro could deff use some love. It doesnt have the sustain tools that every other class has. blast bones is meh. And most of the damage skills are meh unless ur bombing.

I agree with everything except necro, I was a top 5 player pvp with it in EU servers never using the dark convergence build. It was just a hard hitting healer stun spammer and it worked. It felt like I was immortal, the only thing that killed me was a perfect nightblade or templar flank. You just play with agony totem and spam empowering grasp at groups and just let the resources do the work while I slowly kill them

As a necro main, I fully agree. I've tried basically every build under the sun. If it weren't for it's bombing potential, I'd argue mag cro is in the same spot or worse than a mag sorc. Only success I have found was from a necro Stam brawler... I'm a Breton

Stam sorc. Sure A tier burst but the lack of a legit burst heal makes it near unplayable
