How do you fix previous bad repairs on a vintage guitar? And how do you decide what to replace and what to leave as-is when restoring a vintage instrument?

Tony Nagy gives us some insight of what the Gruhn Guitars repair staff considers when doing restorations. In this video, Tony walks us through what he’s done so far on this 1941 Gibson SJ-100. The outcome will be a guitar that functions as a usable instrument while still retaining the aesthetic that you’d want in a well-loved vintage guitar.

I wish I could get one of these guys to do my refrets, but they're insanely busy and I think you have to have purchased the guitar at Gruhn's. That's reason enough to buy one there, in my opinion.
