Just like with solar panels I think a portable version is much better when RV'ing. This will also work for the good people of Canada using Bell Satellite service.

Here is the Amazon link (it is actually on EXTRA sale - recently dropped even more)

I learned you need to unplug it. That thought did not occur to me. Fought with this for awhile. It kept changing after 2-minutes once it found the satellite (101).

There's nothing wrong with wanting to watch a little tv while traveling, staying connected to what's going on in the world and just a little entertainment. I've been considering the Winegard Carryout Automatic Portable dish so it was very helpful seeing your review and how the system sets up.

Thank You! This is exactly what I've been looking for. I have a dish on a tripod and it is a bear to point when we move locations. :-)

carryout a way to go, power is built in the TV cabel, all you have to do make sure satellite face to south, no need zip code no need mother in law agreement, takes 1 minutes to set, up, if you change a location another day, takes another minutes to set up, ))

Hello, I just purchased a 2007 Winnebago Motorhome. The previous owner installed an upgraded Dish Traveler Satellite system. Since I already have Directv in my home, can I covert the Dish satellite to my directv receivers? Thanks in advance for any advise or suggestions.

TV at night after the campfire has gone out is great, I love it. Are you still doing that thing with Amazon to link your product suggestions?

Hey! how are the travels? Thanks for sharing this! I have been struggling with my manual satellite dish at the lake after I moved spots. I finally gave up! So I am in the market for a satellite to work with my directv. It is way to frustrating to have to set up a household satellite dish every time you move. I have been working weekends at the campground since July, it was nice to kick back and watch TV after my shift ended, and most of the shows I watch are Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights so I missed having the satellite hooked up in my camper. Thanks again for sharing. do you know are the king controls and vucube different in that you do not have to set elevations on it? or do they require that manual setting as well? Do you plan on just setting this on the ground? on a block? permanent mount?

Thanks for sharing!

Excellent video, that looks like a sweet setup. I used my Dish Network portable for many years, but became too frustrated with having to call DN every 3-4 weeks to reactivate my programming and go through the troubleshooting with someone from They do security updates all the time, etc, etc, so they told me I should leave my receiver on all the time. That wasn't always possible, so it finally became too much hassle. Next time you talk to DT, you should ask them how far you can travel before you lose programming. With Dish I could only go 3-600 miles before I lost the Western satelite lobe that my local channels were broadcast on. Perhaps the portable models address that now and hand off to other satellites automatically?
I finally cut the cord and went to over the air (OTA) TV 2 years ago and couldn't be happier. The extra $1, 200 plus in my pocket was an incentive too!....:) I do miss not being able to watch the M's or the SeaHawks like I used to out in the middle of no where, but the Hawks are on Network TV fairly often, so haven't been without them in my travels. Everything is online now too, so that's a big help. OTA TV has excellent coverage through out the Western states, so it's rare that I've gone anyplace that doesn't have some TV. I just need to learn Spanish and become a religious zealot and I'll be

Please do future updates, I'll be interested in how it goes for you on your travels. If it works well and isn't a constant hassle I might take the plunge back to Sat. TV. Thanks for the great video. Go
