Did you recently purchase a vehicle that did not have a title? Or did you buy a vehicle, get the title but lose it before you were able to get it put in your name? No problem, you can get a "Bonded Title"! I had to go through the steps and thought I would help out by doing a "How To" video to help viewers get their Bonded Title.

Hope this video answers any of these questions:
How to replace a lost title that's not in your name
How to get a title for a vehicle that doesn't have a title
Buy a vehicle with no title?
Can you get a title for a car that the previous owner lost?

You just saved me from having to buy another car. I purchased a 2001 Camaro about a month ago but the owner wrote my name and license number wrong. When I went to the DMV to register it, they told me the title was invalid. I wasn’t able to get back in contact with the previous owner to fix it so my car was sitting and I was going to continue walking to work. This was my first time buying a car and I was incredibly ignorant in the process. Thanks to you I was able to get myself the title in my name and I no longer have to walk to work in this 120 degree Phoenix heat.

I need to do this for a Mustang I bought with a lost title. I've been dragging my feet to get it done. Thanks for explaining the process. Great video!

Just bought a 2017 mustang with alot of extra aftermarket bells and whistles for 21, 000 with odo at 60k miles apparently somebody dropped the ball somewhere at filling out the title information and he said he would contact pendot and they will issue a new title but since then has gone ghost. So it’s a good thing you made this video thank you so much

Thank you so much!!!! I gained all the information I needed from this video 100% more than what I got from the DMV.

Years ago I used Vermont Loophole....looks like about same amount of work to get it legal, aside from the DMV L&T, and the bond....good info for legit barnfinds.

I'm so grateful for the DVLA in the UK, I'm about to send off for a new V5 (Title) for a motorcycle, fill in 1 A4 form, pay £28 ($35) wait 3 weeks for new one to arrive.

Going through this process currently and live in the same area. I couldn’t get anyone to answer at the License and Theft Bureau. You can request an inspection online they came out a couple of days after my request.

What was the website you used to download the papers that were printed plus I didn’t know this was a thing until I found your video

Ok what if the car hasn’t been registered since 1987 and it’s a lost title. I’m in CA and I’m wondering what happens after we get the replacement title form filled out and they still say they can’t find any records of the car since it’s been so long. Should I just skip that and do a bonded title or try for the replacement 1st

I live in Colorado and the record sear takes 2 weeks because they have to do a national search. In addition some states may not recognize a vehicle title established by bond a roadworthy vehicle, and needs a certified VIN verification.

So the bond is good for 3yrs but the process to get the title doesn’t take much time

I bought a car with a rebuilt title from a dude who lived in GA, I live in TN. He bought the car 2 months earlier but couldn’t register it to himself because it wouldn’t pass GA’s rebuilt inspection or something like that so he was never able to put it in his name. So, i believe it’s technically still in the previous owners name. And now the title has two signatures on the back.. the guy I bought it from and me. What do I do?

This is a great video and explains alot, however I was hoping I could get some advice on my current situation since the DMV doesn't have an "answers for stupid questions section". The current vehicle I own I believe would be considered inoperable due to engine, wheel and brake issues. The dmv website states that if it is inoperable an inoperable title will instead be issued. Now stupid question, I am assuming this means once it is declared inoperable and I have a indemnity bond the inoperable title will be issued instead of a registration and thus me having to have the vehicle safety and emission tested correct? My vehicle is also from 1983 meaning in the counties that still emission test it is exempt, I also live in a county with no emissions testing. However the DMV states it would require emissions, so would my vehicle still need to pass emissions? One last question. I understand during the bonding process the title claimant can take the money or the vehicle, does this period of limbo last the whole 3 years or is it within a different timeframe of the dmv notifying them of bonded title? I am slightly worried as the vehicle was a title jump and being a young kid buying it I fell for the "cars over 20 years old don't need a notary", so I have an un notarized title. If you are able to answer any of these questions I would be extremely grateful

Love this. Does the car have to be in working order to be bonded? I pulled a truck out of a swamp and was given a bill of sale by the property owner. It’s pretty much gone and I’m welding it.

I watched your video where you explained the steps needed to get a bonded title on a car. I need some advice. I purchased a car in cash from someone who got the car from a dealership in Arkansas. They gave me the title and even signed their name in the back during the sale but the issue is that they never registered the car and title under their name, and the title still remains under the dealership (car is paid off and not reported stole). I have the title and contacted the dealership but they don’t want to get involved and denied helping. Do you think I can claim “no proof of ownership” and “bonded title” at the DMV in New York to be able to fix this mess and in the end not lose my money ? Please

I admire you for thinking this is painless. I figure if you count your time, bond cost and fees, this cost you the same as the vehicle. This kind of thing boils my blood to be honest. But that gets me nowhere. Nice video.

I'm not understanding how the bond pricing works. Can you explain that to me again?
