I was speaking to Ely Buendia when he was writing this song back in the 90's. I asked him in Filipino (Tagalog), "What are you doing?". He goes, "Writing a song". I go, "What's the title?". He goes "With A Smile". I asked, "Who is it for?" . "If you want, I'll dedicate it to you!". I go, "Shut up!". He goes, "For real! It's for you!". I rolled my eyes 'cause I know he was talking crap and he was just being nice to make me feel good. Lol. He was on the phone with me as well when he was writing "Kailan". Memories. 🙂🙃😉
