Logic X Workflow Tips | Make Logic More Like Ableton

I started using Ableton Live more recently and I really fell in love with some of the features. Being a long time Logic user, I wanted to find some ways to get Live elements into my Logic X workflow.

This video looks at 5 tips and tricks to enhance your productivity in Logic X. Even if you've never used Live, these tips will definitely be useful to any producer or artist.

You can also turn on 'click zones' to enable different tools when hovering over different areas of a region, for example I have it set so that the marquee tool appears when hovering over the bottom of a region and the fade tool appears when hovering over the top corners.

You can also leave the Play button in its default mode. Just do Shift + Spacebar to play from selected region ;)

The play from region is a big one for me, a shortcut to that shortcut is SHIFT SPACEBAR automatically plays from selected region. Works with selected marker too! Its kinda all I do all day is play from selected regions. It’s a pretty sweet life

So many pros and cons in each DAW!! I love them both but wish I could combine the 2. Abletons browser to easily work with midi samples(logic has to be 32 bit so I use maschine). Logics piano roll is much more intuitive, let’s you put more than one midi note on top of each other u like ableton that deletes them.. ableton a warp mode just makes life easier, preview loops at the sessions tempo. Been struggling to stick to one but I find myself switching back and forth every few weeks. Great video btw!

Awesome tips! However, I find it easier to use Cmd+R to repeat, instead of the usual copy/paste key commands. This works with the marquee tool as well
