In this video I show you how to use the self steering smart cruise feature on any Kia. I will also show you when you should and shouldn’t trust this feature. It’s definitely not a Tesla. Any comments or suggestions please leave them bellow!

KIA Sales Rep here…. The Lane Keep and Lane Following assist features are NOT meant for drivers to use it as a “self driving” feature. These features are meant to be used to apply “corrective” steering. That’s why it beeps at you to put your hands back on the wheel.

The sensors detect the solid and dashed lines on the road, if you go over to the next lane without using your blinkers, the car kinda assumes you’re swerving over to the next lane.

The lane FOLLOWING feature is designed to keep you CENTERED in your lane. It’s not meant for autonomous driving.

I love my 2023 KIA Sportage! The driving assist is an awesome feature. I’m still only comfortable using it on highways and straightaways. Great video – love your voice!

Planning on buying the new 2022 Hyundai Kona N-Line. Will the Highway Driving Assist perform as well as the Telluride's? Thanks!

I just got the Kia Ev6 GT AWD, the smart cruise control with the all the features on is straight up self driving on the highway, no hands on steering wheel...my car takes all the turns, fast or slow, you name it...brakes on it's own, speeds up when it can, switches lanes with barely touching the steering wheel...it's pretty awesome and scary...when there is bumper to bumper traffic, you can read a book and the car will take care of everything...that being said, when exiting the highway, I would put my hands back on the steering wheel, I innately felt no car can take steep turn like coming off a highway, and I just never felt like using it in basic street driving...seems this guy is taking it on basic street driving, with turns everywhere and saying it's not a Tesla...I have never used autopilot on Tesla, does it just drive itself anywhere, highway and street? does it take any corner?...because that would be crazy...I personally think, Kia's version is perfect, anything more than what kia is doing right now, would be CRAZY good

Does it do well on normal roads or just highways?

When he left the lane and that shit almost flew out the road I was dying. That sucks but at least he was honest about it in the video

If u go through an Intersection it will get squirrel because there are no lines to follow. It will stay in the lane on back roads in curves aa long as they aren't to much of a curve. Does pretty good for the money and the fact that it's not supposed to be a self driving car.

It’s not the yellow lines. I have a serious Ben on a highway with white dashed lines. It’s bends that it won’t make for you. It’ll keep a slight curved highway and straights but any hard bends or on ramp/ off ramp is a no go for the system. I just tried it 2days ago 😅

Who wouldn't want to put their hand on the wheel when turning a curve even if they car is driving itself.. 😂😂😂

28000 MSRP doesn’t get better.
You want a Tesla ? go get a Tesla, but don’t sit in a Kia, an underdog, and compare it to the top.
Otherwise I’ll compare you to Michael Jordan, Ben Carson, or Collin Powell 😃

If you want to drive hands free.... Take the friggin public transport, Uber or whatever. If you get behind a steering use it. It's there for a reason.
