With all the awesome pictures released by the James Webb Space Telescope,
people ask me if it is still worthwhile to engage in backyard astrophotography.
well...This is my latest picture, it shows the huge cygnus wall, a nebula that looks like america
, and it even features a bird! Yes, it takes time, effort and money to engage in backyard astrophotography but picture this. You can choose my own objects of interest, You get more knowledge about the objects in space, and you can engage with wonderful geeks in the astrophotography community.

Clear skies!

Of course backyard astrophotography isn’t dead. The beauty of making images is knowing that you made it yourself. It’s never a competition to be better than others

Very well said.. I normally respond with this argument.. when you visit a famous place like Eifel tower in Paris, why do you take pictures of Eifel tower when there are zillion pictures already available on the net, even much much better than yours... but you still take that picture because it's "you" who has taken that picture and that matters!

With a handfull of objects that make a strong image. No its not worth the money setting up to do it. Same objects every year. Ive just sold my kit and no regrets...
